Los Lupeños de San José exists to promote the awareness, appreciation, and understanding of the rich and passionate culture of México through dance. Our new home is at the Mexican Heritage Plaza in San José where Los Lupeños dancers can rehearse and perform in a place that is closer to the community.
Los Lupeños has a diverse history and over the years has accumulated a varied repertoire of dances from many master teachers from both sides of the border. Much of this material can be seen throughout the year in large and small performances and events.
Teatro Target Performing Arts Series:
Ballet Folklórico Quetzalli (special appearance by Los Lupeños)Experience the beauty of Veracruz with this talented group of dancers and musicians on tour from México. Established in 1985, this outstanding company has delighted audiences from around the globe. Their visual fiesta of culture and folklore features many regional dances of old México, in particular, their home state of Veracruz (birthplace of the world famous "La Bamba"). The music, performed live on authentic stringed instruments, punctuates the meticulous movement, colorful clothing and perfect pulse established by the dancers.
