Gear up for the 2008 Presidential election as declared Democratic candidate and Governor of New Mexico shares his points of view on issues of interest to our community. As a seven-term congressman from New Mexico, Richardson focused his energies on major foreign policy issues and the growing energy issues in America. In 1997 he was appointed as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and was later named Secretary of Energy under President Clinton. Since 2002, Richardson’s moderate approach to politics has served him well as governor of New Mexico where he has been devoted to clean energy use and developed aeronautic and technological infrastructure in the state. Richardson’s Hispanic heritage and approach to immigration issues makes him an important figure in the long term debate on border security and illegal immigration.
