Arts Council Silicon Valley Announces Fellowships opportunities to Choreographers, Ceramic and Glass Artists
San Jose, CA., August 18, 2005 — Arts Council Silicon Valley today announces fellowship opportunities for individual artists in the following categories:
Visual Arts: Ceramics and Glass (submission deadline, November 7, 2005)
Performing Arts: Choreography (submission deadline, November 14, 2005)
Arts Council Silicon Valley awards up to six fellowships of $4,000 each annually to recognize professional working artists in Santa Clara County and to assist them in pursuing creative work. Recipients also will have the opportunity to exhibit at a local venue.
An informational workshop will be offered free to prospective applicants at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, and again at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, at the Arts Council’s conference room, located at 4 North 2nd Street in downtown San Jose on the second floor.

The program, which awards artists annually in rotating categories, is supported through the Arts Council’s PARTNERS Grants Program. It provides an avenue for corporations, foundations, individuals and government agencies to invest in artists and arts organizations in Silicon Valley.

Knight Foundation, The Peninsula Community Foundation, Lockheed-Martin Space Systems, The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Arts Partners Endowment Fund and the Silicon Valley Arts Fund Endowment administered by Community Foundation Silicon Valley and, ArtsChoice, the Arts Council’s workplace giving program.
