Daniel W. Ballesteros - Chairperson
Dan Ballesteros is a Hiring Shareholder in the law firm of Hoge, Fenton, Jones and Apel in San Jose. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from Stanford University and a Juris Doctor degree from the Boalt Hall School of Law, at the University of California in Berkeley. In his law practice, Ballesteros handles disputes arising out of the purchase and sale of real property, as well as disputes related to the ownership of real property. He represents clients in all phases of litigation and arbitration. He has successfully defended owners and brokers against allegations of nondisclosure, misrepresentation and breach of fiduciary duties. In addition he has represented property owners in all manner of disputes, including specific performance actions, partition actions and tort claims.
Kimberley Rocha - Vice Chair
Kimberley Rocha is a native of San Jose’s East side. She graduated from Evergreen School District schools, Silver Creek High School, and San José State University. At SJSU, Rocha earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Kimberley and her husband Miguel own and operate First Rate Capital LLC, a real estate and mortgage brokerage firm located in San Jose. First Rate Capital LLC specializes in serving customers in the Latino community.
Rocha has also served the community in a number of ways. As a volunteer at Most Holy Trinity Parish, she has worked on youth retreats and other MHT youth group activities. An accomplished singer, she played the lead role in El Teatro de los Pobres version of “La Virgen del Tepeyac” for many years. For the last two years she has served on the Board of Trustees, as President, for East Hills Preschool and volunteers as a team parent for her son’s Evergreen little league team.
Anne-Marie Eileraas - Secretary
Anne-Marie Eileraas, Board Secretary, is Vice President and General Counsel at SupportSoft, Inc., a Silicon Valley provider of technology problem resolution software and services. Eileraas has spent several years as an attorney for technology businesses, including Intuit, Honeywell International’s Process Solutions business, and Wind River Systems. Eileraas started her career as a litigator and was a partner in a San Francisco law firm, Howard Rice. She clerked for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and received her B.A. in Architecture from Yale University and a J.D. degree from the University of Chicago law school.
Nicholas P. Petredis, Esq. - Treasurer
Nicholas P. Petredis, Esq., Board Treasurer is an attorney in private practice in the Silicon Valley. He received his law degree from Temple University School of Law after completing an M.A. in Planning & Public Administration from Pepperdine University and a B.A. in Political Science from Salem College. Prior to entering law school, Nick was an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps serving as a Naval Aviator. A resident of San Jose, he is the past Chair of the Palo Alto Airport Commission, advises several non-profit organizations pro bono, is a Director and Secretary of the Board of O’Neill Sea Odyssey, and a Director on the Board of the San Jose Medical Research Foundation.
Dr. Martha J. Kanter - Chair – Board Development
Dr. Kanter is chancellor of the Foothill-De Anza Community College District, one of the leading community college districts in the nation, serving more than 44,000 students with a total budget of more than $275 million. Formerly, she served for 10 years as president of De Anza College and, prior to that, was a vice chancellor, vice president, dean and faculty member. Early in her career she taught high school English and social studies to economically disadvantaged youth. Kanter holds a doctorate in organization and leadership from the University of San Francisco, a master's degree in education with a concentration in clinical psychology and public practice from Harvard University and a bachelor's degree in sociology from Brandeis University. Dr. Kanter is active in a wide variety of national, state and local organizations, including the nationally renowned League for Innovation in the Community College, the CEO board of the Community College League of California, The National Hispanic University, the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology, Joint Venture: Silicon Valley Network, Inc., Peninsula Open Space Trust, Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley, San Jose Museum of Art, North Valley Workforce Investment Board (NOVA) and Stanford Business School's Alumni Consulting Team (ACT). In addition, Kanter is a senior fellow of the American Leadership Forum-Silicon Valley and belongs to the Rotary Club of Palo Alto.
Rudy Rodriguez - Member at Large
For the past 11 years, Rudy Rodriguez has served as a Public Affairs Specialist for the State Farm Insurance Companies. Rodriguez currently contributes to the San Jose community by volunteering in the classroom, serving on numerous boards of community based organizations, including the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley and the California Hispanic Professional Association (CHispA), helping with neighborhood beautifications, and mentoring young men and women through programs such as the Puente Project and California Community Partners for Youth.
